Harold

Mulberry- Harold "Hal" G. Strickland, Jr. arrived in heaven on October 15, 2012, following a brief but very courageous battle with a rare form of cancer. Hal was born November 20, 1947 in Plant City, Florida to Peggy Harris and Harold Glen Strickland, Sr.(deceased). Hal is survived by his wife Donna, his son Tom and daughters Carey and Tarey, his brother Michael and sister-in-law Dien, his grandchildren Keely and Fiona and niece Sarah. Hal was a selfless man with indomitable will. An avid outdoorsman and cattleman, he was also an animal lover who took in countless rescue pets. A deeply spiritual man, he expressed his love for God with humble acts of kindness toward others. Hal always enjoyed time at the beach, his favorite place to relax. He was a 45 year veteran of Verizon, known for his exemplary work ethic and his wry sense of humor. he was a provider for his family to the end. Hal's generosity and company will be dearly missed. As it was Hal's wish his body was donated to the Anatomical Board of the State of Florida. Hal's family will be having private services.
